Who are these neo-cons?

I can't say I've ever really met one. From what I gather, they are against government benefits, but have no desire to control government spending. They don't want government intrusion in their lives, but the churches and corporations have free reign. Welfare for the poor is horrible, but corporate welfare is necessary for the common good.

These neo-cons, whoever they are are turning the republican party into a mere fringe group with no following. If the Republicans aren't going to stand up for fiscal responsibility and personal freedom, why should they get my vote? They're not entitled to it.

This is my manifesto as a conservative:

1) The government is my employee. They get to take money my money in order to serve me. Fund the schools and care for those unable to do so. They do not get to act as my superior or make decisions for me.

2) The power of the government should be limited. The government does not get to monitor my phone calls, look at what I check out at the library, or restrict my access to firearms. After I pay my taxes, they should leave me more or less to my own devices.

3) Government should be streamlined, efficient, and fiscally responsible. Government bureaucracies are bloated and expensive. I'm tired of this.

As you can see, the Republican party is an abject failure in my eyes.

Peace!
