For the first time since the 1980's Russian cosmonauts will not be going into space packin' the TP-82, a triple-barreled drilling-like pistol. This unique boomstick was intended for wilderness survival in the event a Soyuz crew was blown off course upon reentry and had to fend for itself.

The problem? No ammo for the unique boomstick. Existing supplies are old, and no more is being made. This is too weird. The Russians have the reputation as being a spartan, practical people, at least when it comes to arms and ammunition. the commission that designed the pistol should have been happy with two 20 gauge barrels and a 7.62x39.
